1. Step Back in Time - Historic Georgetown
Start your day with a ride on the historic Georgetown Loop Railroad. Ride behind a steam powered locomotive, destination the Lebanon Silver Mine for a walking tour back to the early days of Silver mining (this mine is only accesible from the train). Arrive back in Georgetown in time to enjoy a stroll down historic downtown 6th street. Marvel at the beautifully restored Victorian buildings dating back to the 1880s. Georgetown is part of the Georgetown-Silver Plume National Historic Landmark District. Enjoy the many unique shops and then stop in at one of teh many quaint restaurants for lunch. After lunch it is time to witness the detail of Georgetown's unique architecture from the inside with tours of the Hotel de Paris and Hamill House.
2. River Rafting and Hot Springs
Feel the rush of adrenaline as you challenge the rapids along Clear Creek with one of our many experienced Rafting Companies. Take the first part of your day to challenge the environment and plunge into the rapids, or perhaps choose a more relaxing approach and enjoy the alpine setting while floating past Idaho Springs historic C harlie taylor Waterwheel and spotting for Big Horn Sheep. After your raft trip enjoy a packed lunch prepared by one of our great local restaurants and erelax in the park breathing in the fresh mountain air. Next, head to the Indian Springs Resort for a little pampering, you earned it! Scehdule a massage, enjoy the hot mineral baths or a swim in the hot springs pool, but don't forget to cool off at the poolside cabanawith a refreshing drink. For the evening, you can stay at one of our many small motels, cabins or bed and breakfasts and enjoy dinner at one of our many fine and unique dining establishments in Idaho Springs. be sure to check out our local brewery Tommyknockers and our local roaster Java Mountain Roasters coffeehouse. Be sure to set aside some time to shop for souveniers at the many fun and unique Idaho Springs shops.
