Tommyknocker's Mining Days Festival

Celebrate Idaho Springs mining heritage. Gold, that magic yellow metal, was discovered in Colorado first, and brought thousands of prospectors from around the world. With them came their traditions and folklore. The tommyknocker legend speaks of elf-like creatures that live in mines that could lead you to riches beyond your wildest dreams. Come discover the traditions and life of a turn of the century miner. Exciting drilling and mucking competitions for all ages; children's petting zoo and donkey rides; parade; colorado artisans; live music; professional pack burro race; gold panning; and educational tours of the ARGO, Phoenix, and Henderson Mines (packages available).
